Fungality — Thomas Doxiadis
EPISODE 1 — SEASON I · Soundwalk Collective · LOVOTIC-X
Fungality inaugurated the LOVOTIC-X cycle, a series of activations conceived by the Soundwalk Collective to expand the conceptual universe of the installation LOVOTIC. Architect and landscape designer Thomas Doxiadis guided the audience through a journey that begins with fungi and unfolds into a reflection on life, relationships, sexuality and interspecies ecosystems — drawing a speculative line “from fungi to robots”.

An underground intelligence
Fungi reveal complex reproductive systems, vast subterranean networks and a metabolism capable of adaptation and regeneration. Doxiadis highlights how these life forms challenge conventional understandings of intelligence, connection and evolution, offering an expanded view of ecological interdependence.

From fungi to robots
The Episode bridges natural structures and technological systems, suggesting parallels between biological growth, evolutionary strategies and emerging relationships between humans and artificial intelligence. The fungal perspective becomes a tool to question desire, identity and transformation.

LOVOTIC-X
Fungality opens a multidisciplinary journey extending across Season I, intertwining science, ecology, sound, poetry, performance, queer theory and technology. Each Episode activates LOVOTIC through live actions, expanding its themes of hybrid intimacy, bodily perception and human–machine relationships.

Biography — Thomas Doxiadis / doxiadis
doxiadis is a studio operating at the intersection of architecture, landscape and ecology. Since 1999 it has developed projects rooted in observation, symbiosis and environmental interdependence, creating spaces where natural dynamics and human presence coexist in balance.
