Dopo il Diluvio – Performance di Muta Imago
EPISODE 3 – SEASON III BALTIC ADVENTURE
On March 25, 2024, FOROF presented the third Episode of SEASON III – BALTIC ADVENTURE with Dopo il Diluvio, a site-specific performance by the theatre company Muta Imago, conceived in dialogue with the exhibition and the archaeological spaces of the Basilica Ulpia.
Suggested photo: audience immersed in the underground atmosphere of the Basilica Ulpia.
An augural ceremony
The performance recreated a ceremony where past rituals, present urgencies, and future visions intertwined. Voices, sounds, lights, and gestures composed an immersive landscape, transforming the ruins into a vibrant temple of suggestions.
Suggested photo: light play and performers in the archaeological setting.
Between auspices and omens
The work recalled the auspices of Ancient Rome, priests who interpreted the signs of the gods by observing the flight of birds, blending them with the biblical myth of the dove announcing the end of the universal flood. In this context, flying beings became sonic presences within a suspended landscape.
Suggested photo: performers and audience in motion, surrounded by lights and sounds.
An immersive journey
The audience, free to move within the hypogeum, experienced a journey that combined ancestral vibrations, ancient wind instruments, and contemporary electronic frequencies, creating a temporal short circuit between past and future.
As with every Episode of the Season, the performance ended with the gastronomic experience curated by Rimessa Roscioli.
