On May 16, 2024, FOROF presented the fourth Episode of SEASON III – BALTIC ADVENTURE with Festa con Piccola Tragedia, a performance by Jacopo Belloni, artist-in-residence at the Swiss Institute in Rome.
Hosted inside the Basilica Ulpia, the event offered a poetic and ritual reflection on the concept of the feast as a transitory space of gathering and sharing.

A feast between ritual and performance
Belloni transformed the archaeological site into a place of shared sociality, carrying on his shoulders light and sound devices that activated a performative dimension between a one man band and a living sculpture. The audience, gathered around the artist, experienced a collective and joyful moment.

Body, dance, and society
Inspired by the figure of the one-man band, once wandering from village to village spreading news and stories, the artist created an action that investigates the relationship between culture, body, and movement. Festa con Piccola Tragedia highlights how dance and collective gestures have always reflected social relations, becoming a mirror of the society that produces them.

Music, community, and conviviality
Each performance involves the collaboration of a different musician or DJ. On this occasion, Belloni invited director Arianna Del Grosso, who contributed to the creation of an original soundtrack, enriching the collective experience.
As with all Episodes, the evening concluded with the food and wine experience curated by Rimessa Roscioli, offering the audience a final convivial moment.
