Sold out and full of energy, the performance by Tobias Dostal on April 23, 2026 reached full capacity at Foro Traiano 1. Plays of shadow and sleight of hand defined Episode 4 SHAPES OF POWER, which activated Season 5 INFRASUPRA, offering a new and original point of view on the environmental installation by Aljcia Kwade curated by Valentino Catricalà.
While outside the spaces of FOROF the Roman sunset enveloped the area of Trajan’s Forum, in the hypogeal level the Berlin-based artist and magician interacted with the marble remains of the Basilica Ulpia and Kwade’s works, then staging the second act of the performance in the theatre space overlooking Trajan’s Column where audience involvement was total. Illusionism and philosophical analysis were united by the common thread of investigating the delicate balance between power and control.
Artflix – a neologism coined by founder Giovanna Caruso Fendi - once again hit the mark, concluding the Episode with a standing dinner curated by Rimessa Roscioli, which served a sensory culinary journey inspired by the ‘manual and speculative acrobatics of Tobias Dostal for FOROF.
