SOLO...? — Aitana Cordero

EPISODE 4 — SEASON IV

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, FOROF hosted SOLO...?, a powerful and radical performance by Spanish choreographer Aitana Cordero, as part of Nimbus Limbus Omnibus by Gelitin/Gelatin, curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi. An intimate and visceral work in deep dialogue with the central theme of the season: liberation.

One body, sixty-eight objects, many possibilities

A single body on stage confronts 68 objects of different natures, constantly changing form and meaning, becoming lovers, friends, inner landscapes. A living matter through which the performer builds and dismantles connections, in a continuous search for new language and presence.

Liberation and transformation

Just like Nimbus Limbus Omnibus, inspired by the Roman rite of manumissio — an act of liberation, passage, and rebirth — SOLO...? moves along the thin edge between constraint and possibility, between desire and limit. The performance becomes a danced journey through physical and emotional landscapes, exploring what happens to a body left alone.

Emptiness as possibility

As curator Bartolomeo Pietromarchi notes, the performance fully embodies the vision of the exhibition: a state of transformation, a threshold as indefinite as a cloud (nimbus) or a border (limbus). SOLO...? is not about solitude but about transforming emptiness into possibility. The performer inhabits a constantly redefining space: destroying beauty to create new forms, erasing nostalgia to remain in the present.
